Traning Day 32 - 26.1.10

I have waited 6 days for the pain to go from my leg and went back to training today.  Within 5 minutes I could feel the niggling feeling coming back but I managed to push a 30 minute interval work out.  My leg doesn't feel horrendous like the other day BUT it does hurt.  Everything I have read about shin splits (which looks what is wrong with my leg) advises that the only treatment is a break from running, otherwise I could end up with a stress fracture and No chance of running the marathon.

On the advice of a sports physio I am going to switch to cross trainer training for a month, which should give the injury lots of time to heal, as the cross trainer uses different muscles and doesn't put strain on that part of the calf muscle.  I am relieved that I am still able to work on building leg strength and endurance and that My training for the London Marathon can continue!

I have also decided that I am going to complete the Marathon wearing one of my Cyber Outfits IF I raise OVER £2000, so if you haven't already done so, I would be most grateful for your donation!  This isn't an easy thing to do, especially now I have an injury but everyones support and the good cause I am running for, is keeping me going.
