I haven't been able to do much training since my last entry due to my daughter being unwell with some unknown reaction to something, so with all the will in the world I pushed myself to my utter limits today:
This evening I ran 15 miles in 2.5 hours. I now genuinely know what
the term "hitting the wall" means. I felt like i couldnt cope with the
pain, then all of a sudden my legs just went up a gear and the pain
eased... I did have to shout at myself to keep going. when I finished
the run I felt crippled and sick...
When i got back to my mums house (the starting point) i was in tears! The tears were a mixture of elation at my achievement as well as pain!
BUT....... I RAN 15 MILES!!! get in! Thank you to my lovely Hubby for
cycling with me and keeping fueled on lucozade.
Marathon in 17 days!!!! Omg! I really have to step up the interval training now! At least I know that mentally, I am strong enough to push myself. The only thing is, Im a bit down because im just over 1/4 of the way to my donations target. I just haven't had time to get out there and fundraise in between training, raising my family and running my business. I am hoping that there are people who are following my progress on our social networking sites: The fan Base, and My facebook page and event page and our forum, who are waiting for me to complete the event before donating. Fingers crossed!
